How to use it
- Enter the slab dimensions.
- Choose your state — or leave U.S. average.
- Keep 5–10% waste.
The formula
Ready-mix = cubic yards × price per yard (+ short-load fee under 10 yd³)
State price = U.S. price × state price level (BEA Regional Price Parity ÷ 100)
Installed slab = area × installed price per ft²
Worked example
| Length | 20 ft |
| Width | 20 ft |
| Thickness | 4 in |
| State | U.S. average |
| Waste / spillage allowance | 10 % |
Result
| Ready-mix material cost | $934–$1,086 |
| Concrete needed | 5.43 cubic yards |
| Short-load fee included | $288 |
| Installed slab (labor + material) | $2,000–$4,000 |
| Area | 400 ft² |
Tips before you order
- Short loads, Saturday deliveries and long hauls all add to the per-yard price.
- Get at least two local quotes — real prices depend on distance from the plant, mix strength and season.
